Then noticed motor runs with line unplugged. But when you put gauge to line or just cover with thumb, motor stalls. What could cause this?<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Would like to know what caused you to want to check vacuum at the booster to begin with.<\/p>\n<p>Typically the engine RPM\u2019s will go up when you induce a vacuum leak such as removing the vacuum brake booster hose. This is NORMAL.<\/p>\n<p>While the hose is disconnected, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/iac-idle-air-control.html\">IAC \u2013 Idle Air Control<\/a>\u00a0will try to compensate and upon plugging the hose may sometimes cause the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/engine.html\">engine<\/a>\u00a0to stall. Simply restart the engine and it should compensate.<\/p>\n<p>If you were having idle issues to begin with, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/iac-idle-air-control.html\">IAC<\/a>\u00a0may be sticking.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was checking vacuum at power boost.
