And now the upper radiator hose popped off and is frozen. Is my <a href=\"\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/cooling-system-radiator.html\">radiator<\/a> damaged too? I don&#8217;t have the money to replace the engine or hose right now. What can I do?<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>RESPONSE<\/strong><br \/>\nNot a good idea to put straight water in the cooling system. One, it will freeze as you are now aware. And two, the water pump bearings are no longer being lubricated. Radiator should be OK but checking for leaks once it is repaired wouldn&#8217;t hurt. You will need to thaw out the engine and drain the <a href=\"\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/cooling-system.html\">cooling system<\/a>. Reattached the upper hose and secure it with a radiator hose clamp. For additional information, refer to <a href=\"\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/airconditioning.html\">Air Conditioning<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the cooling fan.
