Do not mix with or add any other <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> additive. Use of any additive other than Motorcraft\u00ae Specialty Orange <span class=\"search_highlight\">Coolant<\/span> Revitalizer VC-12 degrades the corrosion protection of Motorcraft\u00ae Specialty Orange Engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">Coolant<\/span> and may damage the engine or cooling system components.<\/p>\n<p><i>If the cooling system has been drained due to a repair, fill a clear, clean approximately 1 L or 1 qt container with <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> from the drain pan. If the <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> has not been drained from the cooling system, open the radiator draincock to fill a clear, clean approximately 1 L or 1 qt container with <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span>. <\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>During normal vehicle operation, Motorcraft\u00ae Specialty Orange Engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">Coolant<\/span> may change color from orange to pink or light red. As long as the engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> is clear and uncontaminated, this color change does not indicate the engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> has degraded nor does it require the engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> to be drained, the system to be flushed, or the engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> to be replaced. <\/i><\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33666\" src=\"\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/what-color-anti-freeze-do-i-need.jpg\" alt=\"What color anti-freeze do I need?\" width=\"650\" height=\"819\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/what-color-anti-freeze-do-i-need.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/what-color-anti-freeze-do-i-need-238x300.jpg 238w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/>What color anti-freeze do I need? Detection of contamination with Premium Gold Engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">Coolant<\/span> is determined by the presence of nitrite. Flush the system and refill with the correct mixture of distilled water and Motorcraft\u00ae Specialty Orange Engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">Coolant<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>A darker orange with the presence of debris could indicate a commercially available stop leak may have been used and could result in loss of <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> flow to critical parts of the engine. If sediment is present in the <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> sample, flush the system and refill with the correct mixture of distilled water and Motorcraft\u00ae Specialty Orange Engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">Coolant<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>A light or reddish brown color indicates that rust may be present in the cooling system. Flush the system and refill with the correct mixture of distilled water and Motorcraft\u00ae Specialty Orange Engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">Coolant<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>An iridescent sheen on top of the <span class=\"search_highlight\">coolant<\/span> could indicate a trace of oil is entering the system.\u00a0 Flush the cooling system and refill with the correct mixture of distilled water and Motorcraft\u00ae Specialty Orange Engine <span class=\"search_highlight\">Coolant<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>A milky brown color may indicate that engine oil is entering the cooling system.
