The entire hub bearing will have to be replaced. The hub bearing starts to wear and damages the internal speed sensor.\u00a0 This will cause the ABS Light and traction control light to come on. The good news is the car can be driven without fear of it braking down. However the traction control and the ABS will not be functional.<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"search_highlight\">ABS<\/span> Light<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The IPC illuminates the <span class=\"search_highlight\">ABS<\/span> indicator when the following occurs.<\/p>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">The electronic brake control module (EBCM) detects an <span class=\"search_highlight\">ABS<\/span>-disabling malfunction and sends a serial data message to the IPC requesting illumination.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">The IPC performs the bulb check.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">The IPC detects a loss of serial data communication with the EBCM.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">The EBCM sends a serial data message to the IPC requesting illumination.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p><b>Low Traction Indicator<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The IPC illuminates the low traction indicator when the following occurs:<\/p>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">The electronic brake control module (EBCM) detects a traction control event. The IPC receives a serial data message from the EBCM requesting illumination.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle. The indicator illuminates for approximately 3 seconds.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p><b>Traction Control Light<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The IPC illuminates the traction off indicator when the following occurs.<\/p>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">The EBCM disables engine torque reduction due to a malfunction and sends a serial data message to the IPC requesting illumination.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\">The driver manually disables VSES and engine torque reduction by pressing the traction control switch.
