Only replace the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> if the <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> is restricted. <\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<table border=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span class=\"admonition_note\"><span style=\"color: brown; font-size: large;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\"><span class=\"admonition_note\"><span style=\"color: brown;\">Inspect the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> tank internally and clean the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> tank if you find a restricted <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li type=\"1\">Relieve the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> system pressure.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Raise the vehicle.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Disconnect the quick-connect fitting (4) at the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> inlet.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Disconnect the threaded fitting at the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> outlet.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Drain any remaining <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> into an approved gasoline container.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Remove the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> pipe O-ring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Installation Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li type=\"1\">Remove the protective caps from the new <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Install the new plastic connector retainer on the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> inlet. Install the new retainer in the same position as on the old <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Lubricate the new <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> pipe O-ring with clean engine oil.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Install the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> pipe O-ring.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Slide the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> into place.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Connect the quick-connect fitting (4) to the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> inlet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"admonition_caution\"><strong>Caution!<\/strong><b>\u00a0<\/b>Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li type=\"1\">Connect the threaded fitting to the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> outlet. Use a back-up wrench in order to prevent the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> from turning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Tighten<\/b><br \/>\nTighten the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> <span class=\"search_highlight\">filter<\/span> fitting to 30\u00a0N\u00b7m (22\u00a0lb ft).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li type=\"1\">Lower the vehicle.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Tighten the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> tank filler pipe cap.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Connect the negative battery cable.<\/li>\n<li type=\"1\">Inspect for <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> leaks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li type=\"A\">Turn ON the ignition for 2\u00a0seconds.<\/li>\n<li type=\"A\">Turn OFF the ignition for 10\u00a0seconds.<\/li>\n<li type=\"A\">Turn ON the ignition .<\/li>\n<li type=\"A\">Inspect for <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> leaks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li type=\"1\">Install the <span class=\"search_highlight\">fuel<\/span> injector sight shield.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Where is the fuel filter located?
