{"id":3749,"date":"2011-08-13T17:26:23","date_gmt":"2011-08-13T22:26:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/?p=3749"},"modified":"2011-08-16T19:10:22","modified_gmt":"2011-08-17T00:10:22","slug":"brake-calipers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/2011\/08\/brake-calipers","title":{"rendered":"Brake calipers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2004 Ford Excursion 4&#215;4  5.4 gas<br \/>\nClosing in on 200,000 miles<br \/>\nJust finished drivers side brake pads and rotors, calipers not sticking, seem fine&#8230;<br \/>\nJust cracked open the passenger side and WHAT A MESS!!!!<br \/>\nThe pads gone, the rotor is is toast and the caliper has a small chunk out of one of the pistons!<br \/>\nThe caliper still seems to function, but this side has been a problem before, so I have just changed the caliper.<br \/>\nMy question is: since I have already put the drivers side back together, do I need to take it back apart and replace the caliper there as well, or it is likely that it is okay?<\/p>\n<p>***Note<br \/>\nI bought the truck with very low miles.
