I have a 98′ S-10, manual transmission, 4cyl, 2.2l engine.<\/p>\n

The backup lights are not working.\u00a0 I’ve traced it to the backup switch \/ transmission.\u00a0 I bought a new switch, and replaced it, but they still do not work.\u00a0 I took the new switch out of the transmission, and manually depressed the bearing.\u00a0 This turned the lights on.\u00a0 So the trouble appears to be with the mechanism inside the transmission that activates the switch.<\/p>\n

My question is, how do I service this?\u00a0 Is there something internal that may need replaced?\u00a0 If so, does it involve completely disassembling the transmission?\u00a0 Thank you in advance for any information you may be able to provide!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
