\"MazdaI am trying to change Ignition Coil #2 under Upper Intake Manifold. I have disconnected all hoses, all items and removed bolts. The manifold refuses to “break loose” in order to lift it up. It appears there’s oil, gook, and it is like “sealed” at the gap where it should break apart from the lower intake manifold. Help! What can i use to help loosen it? Thank you!<\/p>\n

Intake Manifold Refuses to Break Loose<\/h4>\n

Make certain all bolts are removed. Next double check to make sure all bolts are removed. When you are done with that, move on to checking to make sure all the bolts are removed. Since you are sure all the bolts are removed you may slide a thin metal scraper in and wiggle a little to try an loosen it up. You can try being gentle with a big screwdriver but it shouldn’t take much pressure. The gaskets are just rubber o-rings that may need to be replaced.<\/p>\n

Upper Intake Manifold Replacement<\/h3>\n

Upper Intake Manifold<\/h4>\n

To Remove:<\/h5>\n
    \n
  1. Loosen the air cleaner outlet tube clamps and remove the air cleaner outlet tube.<\/li>\n
  2. Remove the three nuts retaining the engine appearance cover and remove the cover.<\/li>\n
  3. Disconnect the throttle cable (#1), the speed control cable (#2, if equipped) and the throttle cable bracket bolts (#3).<\/li>\n
  4. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor and the Idle Air Control (IAC)<\/a> electrical connectors<\/li>\n
  5. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum hose and EGR tube nut.<\/li>\n
  6. Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid electrical connector and vacuum hose.<\/li>\n
  7. Locate the three vacuum hoses on the back of the intake manifold. Identify and tag for reassembly. As shown, #1 is the chassis vacuum hose, #2 is the engine vacuum hose and #3 is the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose.<\/li>\n
  8. Disconnect the larger Vapor Management Valve (VMV) hose.<\/li>\n
  9. Locate and detach the two electrical connectors attached to the left side of the upper intake manifold.<\/li>\n
  10. Disconnect the Power Steering Pressure (PSP) sensor electrical connector.<\/li>\n
  11. Remove the bolt holding the transmission vent hose and bracket and move aside. Also remove the nut from the wire harness<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  12. Remove the eight bolts and remove the upper intake manifold. Discard the gaskets.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    To Install:<\/h5>\n
      \n
    1. Installation is a reverse of the removal procedure. Clean all parts well. Installation is essentially a reverse of the removal process. Use care when handling light alloy parts.<\/li>\n
    2. Install new gaskets in the upper intake manifold and carefully set into position. Tighten the bolts in sequence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Carefully torque the upper intake manifold in this sequence. Do not over-tighten or the light alloy pieces could be damaged.

      3.Make sure all vacuum lines are returned to their proper locations (follow the marks made at disassembly). Also check that all electrical connections are secure.<\/p>\n
