My catalytic converter has melted so says the garage.<\/p>\n

Was there a question in there? The converter typically melts internally if there is un-burnt fuel exposed to it during operation. For example, if one of the cylinders of the engine was not firing and allows the fuel to simply pass through. When this happens there is usually a rotten egg smell that accompanies the situation.<\/p>\n

  2. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Remove the catalytic converter<\/span> brace. Refer to Catalytic Converter<\/span> Brace Replacement<\/span>.<\/li>\n
  4. Remove the oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter<\/span>. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement – Sensor 2<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
