{"id":58500,"date":"2019-11-12T09:02:07","date_gmt":"2019-11-12T17:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/?p=58500"},"modified":"2024-02-13T07:27:11","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T15:27:11","slug":"obd-ii-scanners-for-2005-chevy-trailblazer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/2019\/11\/obd-ii-scanners-for-2005-chevy-trailblazer","title":{"rendered":"OBD II Scanners for 2005 Chevy Trailblazer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer which I replaced the throttle body with the throttle body postion sensor. <br \/>\nNow I need to do a (TPS) Throttle postition sensor relearn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer which I replaced the throttle body with the throttle body postion sensor. <br \/> Now I need to do a (TPS) Throttle postition sensor relearn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I need to know a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/scantools.html\">odb2 scanner<\/a> that can reset\/relearn the TPS and also work on other vehicles like my 2003 Nissan Juke.<br \/> I want it to have bidirectional features like ecm and bcm programming but if it doesn&#8217;t no big deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trying to keep cost for the new scanner under $450.<br \/>\nAnd a low cost site or source I can purchase the scanner that will work and do what I need it to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scanners-i-have-been-looking-at\">Scanners I have been looking at:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><br \/> 1.) Launch x431 CRP475 not sure if it can reset the TPS on the 2005 chevy trailblazer?<br \/> 2.) Foxwell NT510 Elite was told by one venter it will reset TPS on the 2005 chevy trailblazer but another vendor said it will not.<br \/> 3.) Foxwell NT650 Elite I do like it has a few more functions than Foxwell NT510 but not sure if it will reset TPS on the <br \/>      2005 chevy trailblazer.  Also the NT650 Elite does not have all the features the NT510 Elite has but it does work on other<br \/>      vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please, let me know your opinion on the scanners for items 1-3 if they will work plus pros and cons and let me know the obd2 <br \/>\nscanners you suggest and why. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scanners suggested need to reset the TPS for 2005 chevy trailblazer and work on Nissan and other vehicles also. More functions<br \/> the better \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Can&#8217;t really say what i think about the scanners you suggested without using them myself. But i can say i have had great success with the OTC Genisys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3wc8BbH\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Genisys 3875 EVO OBD II 2012 Domestic\/Asian \/2011 European with System 5.0<\/a>                 &#8211; The OTC Genisys is a sophisticated answer to just  about any scanning need. The OTC Genisys provides scanning capabilities  for a wide variety of cars, vans, and SUVs. Perhaps best of all,  software upgrades (available through the Internet) can be directly  uploaded to the unit, thus making the Genisys system a great choice for  the shop that is dedicated to remaining on top of all the current car  trends. So it would seem that this does not need to be done.
