Then fill it with fluid. The power steering is a closed system and should not loose fluid ever. Replace the pump if that is what is leaking.<\/p>\n<h3>Power Steering Pump, Replace<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove righthand front fender apron seal.<\/li>\n<li>Raise and support vehicle, then remove righthand front wheel.<\/li>\n<li>Remove clamp plates and holders, then the clamp from tube.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-58930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2004-toyota-avalon-power-steering-pump-diagram.png\" alt=\"2004-toyota-avalon-power-steering-pump-diagram\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1706\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2004-toyota-avalon-power-steering-pump-diagram.png 1200w, https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2004-toyota-avalon-power-steering-pump-diagram-211x300.png 211w, https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2004-toyota-avalon-power-steering-pump-diagram-768x1092.png 768w, https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2004-toyota-avalon-power-steering-pump-diagram-720x1024.png 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Loosen drive belt adjustment bolt, then remove <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/serpentine-belt-routing-diagrams.html\">drive belt<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect oil pressure switch connector.<\/li>\n<li>Remove power steering pump mounting bolts, then the pump with pressure tube attached.<\/li>\n<li>Remove oil pressure switch from union bolt.<\/li>\n<li>Remove union bolt and gasket.<\/li>\n<li>Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>a. Torque wheel lug nuts to 76 ft. lbs.<\/p>\n<p>b. Torque power steering pump mounting bolts to 32 ft. lbs.<\/p>\n<p>c.
