You need to cycle the ignition key at least ten times to prime(re-fill) the fuel system. That aside, you can still attempt to spray some starting fluid in the air filter to see if the vehicle isn&#8217;t getting gas. The engine will attempt to run but will not stay running if it is not getting enough fuel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many other reasons for an engine to not start and for that I have created a step by step chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/nostart.html\">No Start Diagnostic Chart<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On vehicles that do not have a fuel pressure testing port an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3Vin7Zm\">in-line fuel testing tool<\/a><\/strong> may be put in place of the fuel filter for testing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3Vin7Zm\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"506\" height=\"502\" src=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-pressure-testing-kit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-81641\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-pressure-testing-kit.jpg 506w, https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-pressure-testing-kit-300x298.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-pressure-testing-kit-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 506px) 100vw, 506px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fuel-filter-replacement\">Fuel Filter Replacement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-filter-repalcement-1998-toyota-camry.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"958\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-filter-repalcement-1998-toyota-camry.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-81642\" style=\"width:561px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-filter-repalcement-1998-toyota-camry.jpg 958w, https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-filter-repalcement-1998-toyota-camry-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.freeautomechanic.com\/mechanic\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/fuel-filter-repalcement-1998-toyota-camry-768x542.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 958px) 100vw, 958px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fuel-pump-r-amp-r\">FUEL PUMP R&amp;R<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On models equipped with coded audio anti-theft systems, refer to &#8220;Precautions&#8221; for code procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On all models, remove rear seat cushion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disconnect fuel pump connector, then remove five screws and service hole cover.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove fuel pump lead wire, then disconnect fuel line from fuel pump bracket. Remove fuel filter cap to prevent fuel from flowing out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove fuel pump bracket assembly, gasket and pull pump out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reverse procedure to install.
