2005 Chevy Cavalier LS Ignition Module

The ignition coils on the 2nd and 4th cylinder of a 2.2L 4I Ecotec engine are burning out, even with repeatedly replacing the ignition module. It has trouble starting up, and then when it does, the engine runs rough, very rough actually. It’ll only run a little over 25mph, and takes a little more than 5 seconds to shit out of 2nd gear (this is an automatic). What is wrong?

  1. How many times have you replaced the #2 and #4 ignition coils. Have you swapped them with #1 and #3 to see if the coils are actually bad?
