Is this an electrical latch (power open) or is this mechanical?
Most likely the hook on the latch has not fully returned and moving it to the side with a screw driver will take care of it. while hittin gthe unlock on the remote opener or using a key in the unlock position, move the hook inthe latch to the side and then try to close it again and see if that doesn’t take care of it.
The other option is that something is in the way of the receiving end, like a small kids toy, dried out french fry, etc.
