1998 Ford Explorer Starting problem when cold
Keywords:Hard Starting
I would start with replacing the spark plugs. If they are worn/old it makes it difficult for them to function as well under cold conditions on initial start up.
If there is a check engine light on, scan for codes and proceed as needed.
We have replaced the plugs.. wires are fairly new, we also have replaced the fuel filter. The check engine light was on but has gone off for about the past week.
You should still have the codes scanned to see what codes are saved as this may help guide you in the cheapest direction.
