98 Jeep Grand Cherokee transfer case

I am trying to rebuild my transfer case, I am in the process of trying to remove the casing, all bolts have been removed but can only pry it open 3/4 inch. Is there something inside that is stopping me from getting this thing open?

Nothing inside is holding it together. There may be a retainong clip or a bolt you have overlooked. Something you can get to is hanging up.
