I have 2005 Ford Explorer — “Check Charging System” sensor light comes on intermittently, mainly while idling at stop light (< 2 seconds each time). When I run "systems check" says all systems OK though. I replaced with new battery yesterday; alternator only 1 yr old – mechanic said was fine yesterday. But, sensor light keeps coming on again today. What's wrong?

This light comes on when the alternator is not keeping up with demand. If you have extra stuff plugged in or an aftermarket radio system this is a common issue. If this was an Autozone bought alternator from a year ago, go get a new one….
