I (can) put car in reverse or forward but will not go forward or reverse. Checked fan belt~not broke, checked oil, trans fluid,& break fluid~all full.Have not had transmission problems or any problems. Do you have a general idea what this could be?

My first thought would be a bad neutral safety switch, but some other factors should be considered.
What color was the transmission fluid? Was it pretty pink like the day it was made? Was it black and burnt smelling? if it was I would say you might also have some internal transmission damage.
