1997 Dodge Intrepid 3.5 L

Left axle is very difficult to remove from the transmission on these cars. Right side always seems to pop off easier. Any suggestions?

    Dislodge inner tripod joint from stub shaft retaining snap ring on transaxle assembly Inner Tripod Joint Removal From Stub Shaft. Inner tripod joint is dislodged from stub shaft retaining snap ring, by inserting a pry bar between transaxle case and inner tripod joint and prying on tripod joint. Only disengage the inner tripod joint from the retaining snap ring. Do not attempt to remove the inner tripod joint from the transmission stub shaft at this time.
