Yeah it needs to be flashed to match your vehicle. We sell them where I work and only way they work is to get all the car info . year make model engine vin ect and then the computer manufacturer flashes the computer and sends them to us usually the price of the computer plus $65.00, suppose it varies on where you get it from.but thats the only way it will work far as I know..
The computer needs to match to you CAR IGNITION KEY, this is an issue that can only be solved by a re-flash.
That is the problem with the Anti Theft system, if the key does not match the code in the EEC the car wont start.
