Smell gas whenever I drive

  1. This is not good as I am sure you already know. Check for a leak first. Since the fuel system in under pressure, park on a clean flat surface or place a clean sheet of cardboard under it. Let the engine run and look for anything leaking onto the ground. Make sure your air conditioning is off as it will drip and may confuse.

    If the smell seems stronger toward the front of the car, pop the hood and look for fuel spraying or leaking. Pop the hood before you start the engine so as not to get a supprise spray in the face.
