Does anyone know anything about old ford trucks? Mine sputters and shakes and has a hard time getting into the higher speeds. It’s almost like it’s not getting enough gas or fuel but once it finally gets up to a certain speed it drives fine, that is until the next light or stop sign.
A couple of times I thought I smelled a faint burning odor but I’m not sure if it was the truck or something outside.
It’s an old truck and about time for problems. Just trying to get some ideas about what the problem might be before I go invest in a mechanic.
I checked what I THINK is the transmission fluid and it seems to be OK.
I first noticed this yesterday as it seemed to be having problems transitioning between the lowest speeds upward( jerking). It’s automatic transmission
Sounds like it could be as simple as needed new spark plugs.
