1997 mercedes benz E-320 4-door sedan automatic

I have noticed, for a couple of months now , that when I fill up gas tank engine misfires when I press on gas pedal . When gas tank is less than half empty engine runs super-smooth. The emptier the gas tank the smoother car engine becomes!!

Next time you fill up, try and use the highest octane they have and see what happens.
