2004 f150

Engine rpms fluctuate while driving at a constant speed if I let off the gas and resume it then evens out just had a code p02004 which was the control runner had that changed it didn’t fix the rpm problem. What can cause this?

    The IAC – Valve controls the idle. Generally when there is idle surging it is caused by a vacuum leak. Could be a hose or gasket.

    2004 Ford – Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open Bank 1

    The P2004 is set when the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) is commanded closed by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), but the IMRC indicates open.

    Possible causes
    – Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) monitor signal shorted to power
    – Faulty Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) actuator
    – Faulty Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) solenoid
    – Damage Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
    – Blocked vacuum hoses
