Lincoln Continental dash lights go out and then it dies. Tired of replacing parts and still not fixing the problem.
RESPONSE
The most common reason for the dash lights to go out and the engine die would be an electrical connection issue. Most likely a bad connection at the battery or alternator. Not to be limited to the positive connections. All grounds should also be checked and cleaned. All positive connections should be checked and cleaned.
Perform The “Wiggle Test” when dash lights go out
With the engine running, wiggle the wires and wiring harnesses one by one. Note which one you wiggled last that made the dash lights go out and or caused the engine to die. This is the best way to discover the problem area. Repair the wiring and all should be good once more.
