2019 Ram 1500 Rear Brake Moan TSB 05-002-19

2019 Ram 1500

I have a 2019 ram 1500 with 13500 miles and the brakes are squealing like the wear bar on the pads are rubbing the rotors. I had the same issue in Aug with 6000 miles on the truck. The dealer replaced the front pads and rotors because they found pitting. This time they could not replicate the sound and found no pitting, damage or wear. What could cause this and is there a TSB that addresses this issue?

Front Brake Squeal

Excessive moisture, cheap metallic pads, sticking calipers are just a few things that could be causing an issue. No TSB for the front brakes. You did the right thing by taking it back to the dealer that performed the repair. Now they have record of the issue. Continue to drive it like normal and if it begins to occur where you can reproduce the squealing noise take it back again. Suggest that they allow a mechanic to go for a ride with you so you can show them what you are hearing. The driving style of the person inspecting the vehicle for a noise may differ from yours.

Rear Brake Moan or Howl

I did find a TSB (TSB 05-002-19) for the rear brakes.  The TSB applies to vehicles built on or before September 24, 2018. The TSB refers to a Moan or Howl from the rear and calls for installing a Moan Brake Kit; Part # 68446866AA.  There are new mounting brackets and a u-clamp that are to be installed.
