HVAC Air Door Actuator R&R
Warning: On vehicles equipped with air bags, disable the air bag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the air bag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the air bag system. failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental air bag deployment and possible personal injury.
A recirculation air door and vacuum actuator are used only on models with optional air conditioning system.
- Disconnect and isolate battery ground cable.
- Remove kick cover from heater-A/C housing.
- Disconnect vacuum harness connector from recirculation air door actuator.
- Insert a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool into latch hole on heater-A/C housing actuator mount. Gently pry actuator latch while pulling firmly outwards on actuator to remove actuator from mount.
- Rotate and tilt vacuum actuator as required to disengage hole on end of actuator link from hooked pin on end of recirculation air door lever.
- Remove recirculation air door vacuum actuator from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install.

HVAC Blend Door Actuator R&R
