1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I have no dash lights and the ABS and TRAC OFF lights are both on. This car has a feature that when it is dark enough the head lights automatically come on. Since the dash lights went out, I have to manually turn the head lights on. We have checked all the fuses. Any suggestions?

  1. The dash light dimmer may be adjusted to low, try this first. As for the Trac Off light, it will always come on when there is an issue with the ABS system. When there is an issue with the ABS system, the ABS light will come on. Anytime the ABS light is on the ABS system is disabled and will not work. A Scan tool is required to determine the fault codes as to what is the issue.

As for needing to manually turn on the headlights, I would check the relays. You can find there exact location in the owners manual under “fuses/relays”. The relays are in the under hood fuse block.
