2000 pontiac grand prix problem

While driving my rpm gauge zeroes out car sputters and trac off light comes on.. What could this be?

Is the check engine light on, any codes would be helpful to diagnose further.
generally an engine sputtering is due to a misfire.

I have a 2000 grandprix,same trouble as tac zeroing trac light comes on,then recently the car quit giong down the road .ten minutes later its running good ,its been acouple days no trouble,no codes history or other wise.scarry to drive dont know when its gonna quit.help!!!!

I have a 2000 Grand Prix and the same thing happened to the tac and the track light. It has killed while going down the road. the rpms go up and down irratic like then it will settle down to normal. when it is given gas sometimes it will sputter and quit. I was stranded at work one morning and when someone came to pick me up the car was running ok so I limped it home all the while the rpms were irratic.
