My engine coughs or hiccups once or twice when engine is under a load such as pulling away from a stop sign or climbing an incline. I replaced the fuel filter and tried diesel fuel conditioner with no improvement. No engine light on. Mercedes ran a computer diagnostics and didn’t find anything. no codes. Any ideas?

The next thing to check would be the Air filter and air passage hose clamps or air box mounting bolts.
It is possible that you may have gotten some bad fuel. Has this happened with several tanks of fuel? Have you tried buying from a different station?
