2002 Renault Lagauna Dynamique 1753L

Hi all, I’m a bit new to this, so I might make a few mistakes.  I have the above car in almost immaculate condition. But the other day I let my wife drive it for the first time as her car is being fixed.

She came home the other night and said your clutch pedal is very high.

Are they meant to be this high it is almost same height of brake pedal.

There is no problem in changing gear or any crunching.  And no I don’t ride the clutch.

Please can anyone advise?

Many thanks.

  1. There is no problem. This is much better than a low pedal. Usually the higher the pedal, the more clutch you have left. As long as it doesn’t slip and works well, I would not read too much into it.

Not all cars are created equal. This just means that the clutch in a Chevy won’t fell the same as a Honda per say. But yes, they pretty much all work the same.

If this is different than what it used to be, then this is an indication of worn parts. The clutch is hydraulic and therefore self adjusts.

The old saying goes… If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
