Engine knocks. I do not hear it when in park, neutral, or when giving it gas. Oil level good. Recently changed plugs and wires, which helped briefly. Any ideas?

When do you hear the knock?
Engine Knock at idle or when rpms are coming down, this would be main bearings shot and generally the crank too.
Engine knocks when rpms are increased or revving the engine, this would indicate rod bearings shot and generally the crank too.
