2000 Ford Ranger 6 cylinder 2wd

I adjusted the dimmer dial and the dash lights and running lights went out. #11 fuse under the hood was burnt (15 mini) I went to replace it and it sparked. I made sure dimmer was set to off & tried again. No spark. Started truck & blew after 1 second. Don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but after that, I left head lights on while poking around, battery now dead. (15 months old) Also at that time, I heard a clicking from under steering wheel, truck off. My driver window gets stuck and I hear the same clicking same place when I try to put window up. Advance Auto said a short. I am not experienced on where and how to check. Thank You

  1. Leaving things on will run the battery down.

Fuse #11 supplies power to the Park Light Relay located in the relay box and from there provides power to the main light switch. However not all models have this relay. If it does, check the relay first, then check your wiring for a short.

It sounds to me like the headlight switch has failed.

Also check fuse#12 as it also provides power to the headlight switch.

Go Here if you need a Wiring Diagram
