CAUTION
Observe all applicable safety precautions when working around fuel. Whenever servicing the fuel system, always work in a well ventilated area. Do not allow fuel spray or vapors to come in contact with a spark or open flame. Keep a dry chemical fire extinguisher near the work area. Always keep fuel in a container specifically designed for fuel storage; also, always properly seal fuel containers to avoid the possibility of fire or explosion.
1.Disconnect the negative battery cable, for safety purposes.
2.Remove the fuel rail.
3.To remove the fuel injector from the fuel rail, remove the fuel injector retainer screws and press the fuel injector out from the fuel rail. Discard the O-rings.
To install:
4.Install new O-rings onto the fuel injector.
5.Wet the new O-rings with a thin coating of oil and press the injector into the fuel rail.
6.Install the bolts and tighten the fuel injector retainer.
7.Install the fuel rail.
8.Connect the negative battery cable.
9.Start the engine and check for leaks.
NOTE: Keep in mind that the engine may take longer to start, since the fuel system has to pressurize. Be sure the battery is in good condition.
