When i sit and idle for very long the engine starts to overheat. The cooling fan does not seem to be working but i don’t know why.

When i sit and idle for very long the engine starts to overheat. The cooling fan does not seem to be working but i don’t know why.
Check the cooling fan by applying voltage and ground directly to the fan motor. If it works, then look toward the fan relays. (common failure part). If the fan doesn’t come on when applying voltage… replace the fan motor.
