I have replaced the maf sensor and the plug with it, plugged in it will not accelerate. When I unplug it the truck runs fine. What could be the problem?

  1. My first thought would be that a different sensor must be bad. When you unplug the MAF Sensor it triggers the computer into default mode and it uses preset parameters in order to operate the engine. It doesn’t get as good of fuel mileage but it will get you there. When this occurs it also triggers the check engine light to illuminate on the dash and stores a code in the computer to help aid in the diagnostic process. Pull the codes with a code reader or have the local auto parts store do this for you for free and post the codes below.
