This was an approved quality repair up until a few years ago. Now New York State department of motor vehicle does not recognize that has a quality repair. And compression fittings are now a failure on New York State inspections. So even though it was acceptable a few years ago now is not. I have used brake line compression fittings many times over the past 20+ years. And have found the brake line itself tends to rust through in other areas before any issues from the use of the compression fitting as a repair.
