2004 Ford Excursion 4×4 5.4 gas
Closing in on 200,000 miles
Just finished drivers side brake pads and rotors, calipers not sticking, seem fine…
Just cracked open the passenger side and WHAT A MESS!!!!
The pads gone, the rotor is is toast and the caliper has a small chunk out of one of the pistons!
The caliper still seems to function, but this side has been a problem before, so I have just changed the caliper.
My question is: since I have already put the drivers side back together, do I need to take it back apart and replace the caliper there as well, or it is likely that it is okay?
***Note
I bought the truck with very low miles. It was a rental and I was told it had been wrecked and repaired on the passenger, which is where my problem is, otherwise @ this point, this will be the first time I have done anything more than turn/replace rotors and
replace pads.
Thank you for any advice, and I can get e-mail@ XXXXXXXX@XXX.XXX (please no spam or anything other than an answer to my question, my kids see this!!! 🙂
No need to replace both calipers if only one needs to be replaced.
