While driving my dome and pedal lights come on. When I turn the car off and try to start it the next day the battery is completely dead. This is a new battery, and the alternator and starter were checked by AAA and are ok. Could this be a short?

Most likely cause for this issue would be the drivers door switch. The dome light normally comes on when you open the door and when it fails will allow the dome light to come on at anytime. This will drain the battery easily over night.
