very hard ride on front end. the car was not driven regularly. could it be struts?

  1. Absolutely could be the struts. May also want to check your tire pressure to make certain they are not overfilled which would stiffen the feel of the ride. Struts are designed to last between 50k miles and then they should be replaced. So if they have not been replaced ever, you can only imagine how much of a difference it is going to make getting some new struts. Anytime we had a car in need of struts come into the shop we would try to obtain “Quick Struts” as replacements. This is the entire strut assembly. It comes complete with new springs, mounts, rubber stops, mounting plates, and retaining nut. Easy enough to do it yourself in just a few easy steps.

    Step 1) Jack the car up supported by the frame on a jack stand and remove the wheel.
    Step 2) Set the jack under the strut assembly and remove the lower bolt.
    Step 3) Remove the top 3 nuts from under the hood holding the strut assembly.
    Step 4) Lower the jack and slide out the strut assembly.

    Install in reverse order. Not a bad job at all.
