I took out my battery to recharge it. I forgot which is the positive and which is the negative terminal. How do I find out?

I took out my battery to recharge it. I forgot which is the positive and which is the negative terminal. How do I find out?
I would use a Multi-meter and select continuity. Touch one end the any metal part of the frame or engine and then the other to one of the cable ends. When the meter beeps(show continuity) you have found the Negative cable.
