Running Lights 2002 Ford Explorer

Okay, so, my back running lights for night will only come on when the lighting switch is turned to the auto position. However, when I have the switch in the auto position my dash back light will not work, that only works when the switch is in the on position. So, I really have an issue at night ha I can’t win either way! Advice on what the problem may be is really appreciated! I know enough to get by, but being a young female I still get some mechanics trying to rip me off. I would rather get someone else’s advice first!

Sounds like you may have a relay sticking. Here is a copy of the wiring diagram to help assist in your troubleshooting.
