Today, my 1996 Buick Riviera with supercharger and 120K miles has developed a problem. Both the odometer and speedometer have stopped working. In addition, the transmission is whinning and the car’s performance is poor—poor acceleration and high taching before shifting. I have not checked tranaxle fluid level yet. Any idea what this problem mght be? In addition, he Check Engine Light is On. Thanks
Hi supercharger pulley has come off…is this an easy fix to replace pulley?
’95 Buick Riviera passenger side view mirror, it was hit into a mail box.. the fixture is fine, but the motor was broken off it’s posts so it’s basically dangling (still works oddly enough) and the mirror with the frame plate broke off completely. I have a replacement, but I’d rather not have a white mirror on my red car…. is there a way for me to pop off the glass and take this thing apart? I would like just to put the new motor with the attached frame plate in my red fixture… or should I suck up the price and just get the replacement painted?
Recently my car was dead so I replaced the battery. It worked fine for 3 days. Then it was dead again. This time I replaced the alternator. It worked fine for 3 more days. Now it is dead again. What possible reasons could be that my car will not hold a charge besides the battery or alternator? The car is a 99 Buick Park Avenue V6 Supercharged. Thanks!

The harmonic balancer in my Oldsmobile went bad. I bought a new Balancer and removed the old balancer. The bad balancer was extremely tough to remove. I rented a Pully Puller from my local Autozone. The Pully Puller wasnt big enough to remove the balancer completely. Therefore, I used a socket as a spacer. I put the socket in the crank shaft (where the bolt goes that holds the balancer in place). I got the bad balancer off but got the socket stuck in the shaft. I tried drilling the socket to smaller width and then hitting it with a pick and hammer. Those stainless steel sockets are tougher than i thought. Then I took it to my mechanic who tried heating it then removng it, no success. There is brass behind it so it cant get too hot. He told me to talk to a machinist and see what they could do. This car isnt worth much and im not looking to spend much to fix it. Does anyone have any advice and/or help with my problem?
Have tried to locate connection for freon can so I can charge system. Would someone please tell me where the connection is as i am disabled vet and do not have $ to pay professional to charge it. have done it before on my wife’s toyota. thanks for your support.
yesterday I drove my buick just fine. I turned on the air conditioner and drove 7 miles. I stoped at a place bought some gas and food at the store, got in the truck to head home . i drove 2 miles and it died. I tried to start it but it wouldn’t start. Today my mechaninc fixed it and charged me $150 dollars I drove it home, then to my daughters ball game and did fine. We left the ball game and again went 2 miles and it died. Iit was all I could do to turn it in to someones driveway but within 15min it started up so I drove fast to get home but again within 3miles it totally died. What is wrong with it?
I was told by my long-time mechanic that our supercharger was going out. There is a noise when the engine is idling. Decided to take it to a Buick dealership and was told it isn’t the supercharger it is the a/c compressor. When we said the compressor had been replaced 9 months ago, they said they would check it again. They kept it over the weekend and checked everything. When they detach the a/c belt the noise goes away. When they re-attach and run the a/c the noise comes back. They removed the belt pulley that runs the supercharger and said the supercharger was fine. Ever since I replaced the ORIGINAL a/c compressor the a/c has been loud. This is the second a/c compressor since the original. The car has 92,000 miles on it.
My question is could the supercharger being blowing out the a/c compressor or could the a/c affect the supercharger?
