Saab 93

Left side window problem

I have this strange problem on Saab 93 year 2004 2.2 tid vector sport fully equipped.
Left side drivers side that is window is doing (or not doing) the following:
1.Once pressed down window goes down fine.
2.Once pressed up nope you need to hold it up all the way.
3.There is no pinch protection on that window,others work just fine.
4.All efforts to calibrate that side came out negative – all other windows and sun roof and side rear mirrors work fine.
5.Remotely on key I can open all windows and sun roof(except the left one),and consequently I can close all windows and sun roof plus rear door mirrors – EXCEPT the left side door window.
6.Nothing has changed on that door since I bought the car – no replacements of module or etc.I did changed battery on several occasions but calibration worked fine on all windows,since one day when it decided its gonna make me miserable.
I would appreciate if anyone had a similar problem and sorted that out.

Taking the fuse out 35 and harness at the door removing and all sort of methods up down wait were tried countless times…For no good.


Replacing the window motor and regulator assembly, in most cases, will take care of most window problems followed by the door module.

Diagnosing a window problem

There are a few things you can check. Check the glass guide seal (A) on both sides of the window. Make sure that no rubbish has become caught. Clean the seal if necessary. Look to see if the seal is damaged or creased. Therefore if the seal is damaged or creased it must be replaced.

Remove the door trim and check that the window motor and regulator are securely fastened without play. Adjust if necessary. Check that the the window is fastened securely an is not unsteady in the slider when raised and lowered. The window must be in contact with the rubber coated mountings.

Pinch Protection Programming

  1. Close the window
  2. Reset the pinch protection by removing and re-installing fuse F5 from the instrument panel electrical  center. The pinch protection for both door modules is now reset and both front windows can be reprogrammed.
  3. Start the car.
  4. Lower the window fully. Hold the button depressed during the entire operation.
  5. Raise the window fully. Hold the button up the entire operation. Wait for at least 1 second when the window is in the top position.
  6. Lower the window fully. Hold the button depressed during the entire operation.
  7. Raise the window fully. Hold the button up the entire operation. Wait for at least 1 second when the window is in the top position.
  8. An audible confirmation is heard when the calibration has been completed. In the event that there is no audible confirmation, repeat the procedure.

SAAB 900

I bought a 1995 Saab 900 SE convertible with 109,000 miles and it has some issues.

  • has a check engine and SRS light
  • codes came back and were cleared
  • knock sensor, mass airflow sensor, p0326 p0331/2 p0102, p0113
  • the exhaust sounds loud
  • should i be worried? will this effect my emissions?

Will this effect my emissions

Code P0326, P0331 and P0332 (Knock Sensors) will not cause any engine performance problems. Code P0102 will cause engine performance issues and emission issues because of that. Before replacing the mass air flow sensor, try replacing the air filter and cleaning the air flow sensor with low compress air or mass air flow sensor cleaner. Reset code and drive vehicle. If the code comes back, it may be necessary to replaced the mass air flow sensor.

Code p0113 refers to the IAT which is located in the air intake around the same area as the MAF sensor. I would check the connections and clamps to make sure there just isn’t a loose connection.

Code P0326 – Knock Sensor Circuit Performance

P0326 Probable Causes

  • Faulty Knock Sensor
  • Knock Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
  • Knock Sensor harness is open or shorted
  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

Code P0102 – Mass Air Flow Circuit low input

P0102 Probable Causes

  • Faulty mass air flow sensor
  • Intake air leaks
  • Dirty mass air flow sensor
  • Dirty mass air filter
  • Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted
  • Mass air flow sensor circuit poor electrical connection

Code P0113 – Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High

P0113 Probable Causes

  • Faulty Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor
  • Dirty air filter
  • Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor harness is open or shorted
  • Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor circuit poor electrical connection

1999 SAAB 9-3

I have a manual transmission on my SAAB. The shifter was disconnected to put in a new ignition switch. But transmission was not locked in 4th gear when linkage clamp was loosed. How do I get the car back into 4th with the linkage disconnected?


Reconnect the linkage and move the shifter. Sounds vague but it is what is required.

1996 SAAB 900

Stalls as if out of fuel

My 1996 Saab 900s 2.3 will with out warning stall weather I’m driving or parked. I replaced fuel pump and filter, coil and spark plug wires, don’t know where to look next, any advice would be appreciated. Runs great when running only 133,000 on it

Fuel Pressure regulator maybe. I would start by connecting a fuel pressure gauge and taping it to the windshield. Test drive and monitor the fuel pressure when it starts to stall. Compare your readings from when it is running well vs stalling out.

2002 Saab 93while driving down the highway at 70 miles per hr. my saab just quit. what would cause this?

my muffler came off, the whole thing front to back. so I left it at this guys house to fix, still not fixed and now im missing the catylactic converter he stole. can I straight pipe the car

Head gasket leaking coolant. Dealer did diagnostic test, put dye with result. Necessary to remove cylinder head and replace all seals and gaskets. Job to cost $3,500. Any advice? Its too pricey to bring it to the dealer but I have second thought if the diagnosis is very definitive.

I have multiple issues going on with car. The main question that I have, is: If car stalls, and won’t move, or even when it seems to be running ok, does this necessarily mean that I have tranny problems ? Some of the probable other issues that I think might be relevant. Cylinder head probably blown. Vacuum lines either hooked up wrong, or not at all. Significant coolant leaks, so not able to use a core tester.

Mechanic has it now, and I’m just concerned about being taken for a ride.
